I had an interest in natural and alternative therapies from a very young age. I was brought up in a family that always looked for ways to assist the body heal itself, through help from therapists such as naturopaths, chiropractors, and Bowen therapists. I feel it was this upbringing that led to my fascination in the human body and in wanting to be able to help others.
After school I went on to complete my Bachelor of Applied Science in Diagnostic Radiography, a career that I have loved and learned so much from. I am passionate about caring for and helping people, and although I loved my job I felt like there was more that I could do. I had experienced applied kinesiology with chiropractors and had always been amazed and fascinated by it. I was lucky enough to come across an introductory course in holistic kinesiology, and on the first morning was already sure that this was the career change I was looking for. It is based on my belief that our mind and body are intelligent, amazing and powerful and are always seeking to find balance and wellness. Kinesiology allows us to tap into this intelligence and help the balance to be restored.
Holistic Kinesiology encompasses many techniques from a large range of therapies that allows the client to gain an understanding into their stresses and issues. It can help uncover limiting beliefs, and clear stuck emotions and behaviours that can cause physical and emotional symptoms. It is this Mind Body approach to dealing with issues that I am very excited to be involved with. Through a Mind Body approach the client is able to feel empowered and in charge of their healing and change.
