A new year has just begun and it brings with it infinite possibilities. Have you thought about what this year could bring? Personally I'm not a big fan of resolutions as I feel there is an element of pressure to them and can be perceived as failure if they're not achieved. I prefer to set intentions of how I'd like to live my life, how I'd like to feel and what is important to incorporate daily. If you haven't done it yet here are a few suggestions of questions you might like to ask yourself to discover what you truly want to manifest for yourself this year. Read more...

Sleep is essential for health and vitality all year round but as I've mentioned winter is a great time to get more sleep, so why not use the cool winter nights to work on improving your sleep quality and quantity.

Sleep debt/deficit (the difference between the amount of sleep you should be getting and what you are actually getting) is fast becoming a major health problem. More and more people are getting less sleep than is recommended for well being, which is 8 hours per night for the average person.

Winter

It’s common when the winter season approaches to start to experience feelings of wanting to withdraw and hibernate away. The colder, shorter days encourage us to slow down. And this is not a bad thing! In nature we see this within much of the animal kingdom as well as many plants and trees. Winter is a time to turn inwards both physically and mentally. The colder temperatures begin to cool the surface of our body and body heat is drawn more internally to keep our core warm. Just as the animals hibernate to conserve energy for the growth period of springtime, it is a time for us to rest and rejuvenate. Read more...

How to deal with negative people

29/11/2013

Have you ever felt there were people in your life who are draining your energy? Taking advantage of you? Bringing you down?

According to one of the universal laws, The Law of Attraction, where like attracts like, this is a sign for you to look at what you are attracting and allowing into your life. Often it can be difficult to understand and accept that we are responsible for what we experience in life; but any time we experience discomfort it is a chance to take a look at ourselves and find the opportunities for change. Ask questions of yourself. What am I allowing into my life? Why am I allowing negative energy into my life? How can I change my focus and therefore attract different energy into my life?

Making changes can start with setting a simple intention such as " I no longer allow ....... (whatever it is you want to change) to be a part of my life". You can also add what you want to have in your life, for example "I now choose to surround myself with loving, positive and supportive people". Keep these new intentions as your focus and watch the changes occur. And be grateful for them when they do!

In this 4 minute video below Oprah answers how to stay on the positive path when there are negative people in your life.
